I finally found some time to scan in a few pictures from our 20 week ultrasound. The first one is pretty self-explanatory, but I'll try to describe the others. I realize that they can just look like blobs if you aren't used to looking at ultrasounds.
You can see an arm in the foreground with one finger extended, her leg to the left of it, and another arm in the background.
In this one, she had both hands tucked up on one side of her face.

Drum Roll Please..................
It's a girl!!!!!!
The ultrasound tech of course had to preface it with the usual disclaimer, but it seems pretty certain that our little Blasto is on Team Pink. The rest of the ultrasound went well, too. Ten little fingers and toes, the heart beating happily away at 150 bpm, and all the other major limbs and organs where they're supposed to be. She was playing with her hands and sucking her thumb the whole time. It was quite adorable. She was also a little wiggle worm. We got some pictures, but it was hard to get good shots because she kept moving around.
No news yet on where we'll be living when Blasto makes her grand entrance. Pat called the guy who's in charge of giving out the assigments, but he won't have any slots to discuss for a few more weeks. Pat will try calling again after we get back from our vacation. I had prepared myself for no news, but it's still disappointing. At least the Army is teaching me patience!

20 Week Appointment
I had my 20 week appointment at the OB clinic yesterday, and everything looks good so far. Blasto's heart rate was 157 beats/minutes, and baby is measuring right on target. Pat and I go to the hospital tomorrow for the anatomy ultrasound. They'll count fingers and toes, check out the major organs, and we'll hopefully get to find out the gender. I've been holding back on buying any of the adorable baby clothes I see since I haven't known whether to buy little girl clothes or boy clothes. I'm hoping that I don't lose all self-control after tomorrow. There's also a chance that Blasto won't cooperate, and then we won't know gender until Blasto is born. With our living situation still up in the air, it would be nice to definitely know gender, though!
