Pig Tails!

I have finally found some rubber bands that stay in Sammy's hair (at least for a little while). Now I just have to work on my speed at putting them in because she doesn't like to hold her head still for long.

Bathtastic

It occured to me the other day that I have yet to post any black-mail worthy pictures of Samantha in the bathtub, so I asked Pat to snap a few. Sammy absolutely loves taking a bath. She gets super excited as soon as I start taking her clothes off. She has recently become a bit too fascinated with the running water coming out of the faucet, which is making it difficult to keep her in her little tub as she tries to reach it.

All clean!

In addition to looking adorable in the tub, Sammy has been mastering all kinds of new things in the last two days. She has started waving back at us when we wave at her, she has managed to pull herself up to standing using Daddy's legs and the couch, and she has figured out how to get water out of her straw cup. Naturally, we think she's very advanced. :-)

Look Out World

Sammy is on the move! It feels like she's been on the brink of crawling for quite some time, but she finally put it all together today.

I also took some video of Samantha playing her favorite game, Where's Sammy?. Basically she puts anything over her face, goes crazy while we say, "Where's Sammy?", and then uncovers herself. The crazy child loves it!

Enjoying Spring

We have been enjoying the beautiful spring weather we have been having lately. Mother's Day weekend was absolutely gorgeous. We spent Saturday in North Tacoma exploring the farmer's market and shops in Procter Square. We had lunch at a cute little cafe where Samantha charmed the pants off everyone.

On Sunday, we decided to do a little Geocaching along the Sequalitchew Creek Trail. The trail follows the creek down to Puget Sound, where we stopped for a family photo.

We've been seeing a lot more wildlife outside now that the weather is warming up. Samantha likes to watch the birds in the backyard, and was especially excited yesterday when this pair of ducks waddled past!

After all of our fresh air and excitement of late, we've been laying pretty low in the evenings and hanging out as a family. Here's Samantha sunggling on the couch with Daddy and the boppy.

Random Pics from the Weekend

Here are some pictures I took over the weekend. Pat had to work all day on Saturday, so I decided to do a little photo shoot with Sammy. She's wearing a sweet little dress from her Grandma Pankau.

The dress camde with a hat, but Sammy wasn't having it. I love how she looks a little guilty in this picture for pulling it off.

Later in the day, I put her in her crib to play for a few minutes while I scrubbed the toilets. I had draped the dress over the side to hang up later, but I came in and found Sammy "wearing" it again. I guess she likes it!

Sammy is eating all kinds of new and exciting things. Last night she had fun playing with asparagus and linguini noodles. I didn't expect her to like the asparagus, but she surprised me and chewed on it for quite a while.
